Area Degree Check & Convention: May 10-11, 2021, Lumberton High School
Area IX will run our degree similar to last year as will the state. May 10th at Lumberton.
- All applications will be submitted through your chapter AET in REPORTS. Not in JC.
- You can begin submitting those at any time. Yes, after district you may make corrections and resubmit a revised application prior to the deadline. (we will send you those deadlines and more information as we get closer to Area)
- You will not need to print any record books, star or proficiency apps.
- We will interview star applicants in person in OD.
- Applications will be scored ahead of time online.
- Americans should be checked by at least 1 teacher before Area but make sure it is on the submittal list in AET.
We will be able to pre-assign teachers to score specific applications as last year and you will be able to do this at your convenience during the timeline we set. (timeline is not set as of yet but as we get closer I will send out an email for you to sign up.)
Each district must
- select 1 star per category to send to Area.
- select 1 proficiency per category to send to Area
- have lonestar books checked by a min of 1 ag teacher at the district level. Please do this well. It will really help our Area go smoothly. Also, make the recommended fixes after district.
Not printing these mounds of paper and burning up ink is the only good thing I can think of out of Covid.
