Barbers Hill Young Farmers
The Young Farmers organization is our adult parent board. The name has a long tradition in Texas and we continue to honor our farmers by continuing to use the name BH Young Farmers.
The BH Young Farmers serves to advise, promote and encourage youth activities in agriculture. The YF also strives to educate our adult members and community with
educational programs throughout the year.
A parent that belongs to the BH YF can enter their children in Jr FFA. Jr FFA is for BH ISD students that are between the 3rd and 8th grade. They are called Jr. FFA Members. So, we hope this clears up the question. Where does a young person that wants to be in the FFA go! Jr FFA and their parents join the BH Young Farmers to serve in leadership & support roles. Names must be on the roster prior to October 1st for your child to be considered a Jr. FFA member.
All Junior FFA membership is due to the
BH Young Farmers no later than the October YF meeting.

About the Program
BH Young Farmers/Ag Supporters are the supporting backbone of the FFA Chapter. The YF Chapter is made up of FFA parents, community leaders, youth supporters, alumni and friends of the FFA.
We are the third largest member of the State Association of Young Farmers, the Barbers Hill Chapter is a result of the hard work and dedication of the officers and members of the BHYF. Some of the projects we are involved with include the following: scholarships for graduating Barbers Hill High School seniors, BH Primary School Ag Adventure Day, Chambers County Youth Project Show Livestock Fair & Auction, sponsorships for FFA students' animals in area stock shows, assist BH ISD Agriculture Science Teachers and students at the local awards banquet for students, sponsor student awards for the end of the year FFA banquet, help sponsor FFA students in above district travel and competitions, BH 4-H & FFA livestock auction and barn sales, serve Chambers County livestock exhibitors breakfast at the county show, facilitate and sponsor a youth livestock showmanship clinic, help to purchase 4H & FFA livestock among others.
We encourage both individuals and businesses to consider sponsoring our events.
We gratefully accept donations of services, products, and capital in order to continue funding our charitable projects.
